Finally back on holiday... - I'm travelling - but not to Dubai!

"The world is a book.
He who never travels,
sees only one side of it."

(Quote from Augustine Aurelius )

After weeks of lockdown, closed borders and many cancelled trips, the desire to travel is unbroken. I'm ready for a holiday! And various surveys show that it's not just me. The desire for freedom and that holiday feeling is huge.

But your mind must also be buzzing with questions about what travelling will look like in the future and which holiday is the safest. I would like to take a look at the "travel prospects" together with you and introduce you to our halbersbacher hygiene concept.

It doesn't always have to be an aeroplane.

There is much to be said for a wonderful summer holiday at home. Germany is more diverse than almost any other European country. Get to know exciting cities, fantastic mountain landscapes and marvellous natural areas. This travel read is about my most beautiful and varied road trip through Germany, which you should definitely know about and could be your next holiday.

As I live in Rostock, we start our round trip in the north. However, you can change the route so that it suits you perfectly. Take a look at the map and then set off on your own personal holiday tour.

Stop #1: Hildesheim

The first stop is the Parkhotel Berghölzchen in Hildesheim. Explore the historic UNESCO World Heritage city and the diverse Hildesheim Börde. The absolute highlight is the breathtaking view over the city directly from the hotel on the Moritzberg.

Stop #2: Wiesbaden

My road trip takes you from Hildesheim to Wiesbaden. Here you can sleep in the cool twice hotel, eat the best breakfast in town and then be inspired by the modern hotel's upcycling ideas. You can definitely expect plenty of action, fun and excitement on your city trip. A visit to Biebrich Palace and a walk along the Rhine are particularly enjoyable.

Stop #3: Bad Dürkheim (Palatinate)

After a few days exploring the city, it's on to the Palatinate. The drive through the vineyards to the Hotel Annaberg in Bad Dürkheim will leave you speechless. Enjoy the marvellous landscapes and the romance of wildly growing vines.

In addition to Palatinate wines, excellent cuisine and regional specialities, you can look forward to a wonderful variety of cultural activities. An unforgettable experience is a visit to a wine festival, a cycle tour through the vineyards and a hike along the "German Wine Route" hiking trail.

Stop #4: Inzell (Chiemgau)

The last stop takes you to Inzell. The Bergmayr - Chiemgau Alpenhotel is the perfect end to your phenomenal holiday and offers you a mix of a relaxing holiday and an eventful trip. Hiking trails to the alpine pasture, the summit or through the valley, cycle tours through the mountains, water adventures in crystal-clear mountain lakes and the giant indoor slide pool ensure that there is never a dull moment. My heartfelt recommendation is a day trip to the most beautiful city in the world. You can be in Salzburg within an hour. Let yourself be enchanted by the city, because there is much more to Salzburg than Mozart and the Salzburg Festival.

After beautiful sunsets, cleansing summer thunderstorms, colourful rainbows, mysterious wafts of mist, fragrant hay meadows and soft mountain forest floors, summit views and valley panoramas, you will end your holiday after 10 to 14 days.

Stopp #1: Zur Erkundung der UNESCO-Weltkulturerbestadt Hildesheim ist der erste Stopp im Parkhotel Berghölzchen.

What travel trends are there?

Various studies show clear trends - many people are longing for an active holiday in the fresh air. However, only a few have made firm bookings so far and are waiting to see how things develop. The most popular types of holiday in Germany include active holidays, road trips and motorhome trips. Flexibility plays a decisive role in holiday planning. The focus is on clear safety guidelines, hygiene standards and good health facilities. However, before thinking about the next holiday, most people want to be able to move around their immediate surroundings again without any worries or restrictions.

SafetyFirst - hygiene concept

The desire to travel is growing, the dreams of holidays are getting stronger, but at the same time the feeling of uncertainty and fear is also growing. After all, travelling as we knew it before coronavirus will not be the same for a long time to come. However, halbersbacher has developed a comprehensive package of measures and awarded all hotels with a hygiene seal so that you can experience a carefree holiday in absolute safety.

The health of our guests, partners and employees is our top priority. Even under the new circumstances, travelling with halbersbacher should be safe and reliable for you.

Here you will find the halbersbacher hygiene concept with all its details.

I hope that nothing stands in the way of your next travel experience and that we can all see the many different sides of the world together. The halbersbacher team is very well prepared and is always available to answer your questions and concerns.

See you soon and best regards,
